I might get one more batch in this year but I'm not sure. Lots of other stuff going on. If I do it will be an American Bock made with Diamond. In my new brewery for 2022 there were 25 batches brewed, 7 of which were ales, the rest were lagers. How about the rest of the group?

Had to take a 2 month hiatus because my control panel for the brewery pooped the bed. I just wrapped up my last brew session for 2022- a pale ale.
Looking over my notes.
13 total brew sessions, and two bottling sessions.
The menu was all over the place:
4% Dry Stout, German pilsner, smoked helles, APA treated like a NEIPA, a 40% rice lager.
Also, as I have a sour blending program in house- mixed 10 gallons of lambic style beers- a blend of 3 year/2 year/1 year old beers. 5 gallons aged on cherries, the other with no fruit.
Also- this year my water profile threw a hard curve ball- I dumped 4 batches (20 gallons) of cream ale and UK mild- my water made the cream ale and mild tastes chalky and lifeless- had to order a ward labs report to troubleshoot the issue. As of now, with the new water report, I'm calibrated and back on track.
'22 was a mixed bag for me as a brewer. Glad I was able to deduct my water was the issue.

I have brewed 26 so far. I may get one more before the new year.
17 ales. 9 lagers.
My lager to ale mix was a bit skewed this year. I brewed 4-5 blonde ales. When brewing I plan on going back and forth between lagers and ales, but I treat the blondes like lagers since they are yellow easy drinkers.
Edit: added one I brewed the day after this post.

I brewed 19 batches in ‘22. I doubt I’ll brew another one before the new year.
14 Ales, 5 Lagers.
The most memorable beers were the Schwarzbier, Ky Common, and Cream Ale. Though the Bock was a big hit last night with my sons and DIL(s) (we had 15 including kids over for a Brisket BBQ).
The Big Brew was fun when Tommy and I brewed the same beer using different processes/equipment then did a blind triangle. That was fun.
The most interesting process was my recent attempt at a Low(er) Carb Vienna Lager using the Non Enzymatic Mash (NEM) method. It’s not ready yet. I’m looking forward to that one.

I'm hanging my head reading about Lefty's water woes. I remember being a new brewer and pouring out a batch of beer and it was truly nauseating watching it glug down the drain. I feel you, brother!! I understood eventually that sometimes a "bad batch" is going to happen and better to open up those kegs to a more deserving beer that we'll actually drink. Otherwise there has been a good amount of brewing here for sure. My 25 batches is probably close to average although there are fewer people drinking my beer on a regular basis now, mainly because all three of my kids live out of state. I have 10 kegs and there is ONE empty one at the moment so I consider myself "caught up". If a day presents itself over the next two weeks to make one more batch, I'll do it. Cheers Beerheads.

16 - 2.5gal batches. 14 different styles (not sure that's a good thing for zeroing in on a recipe, but it keeps things interesting) 15 ales 1 lager (just to say I did one! ) Most used Grain - Deer Creek "Keystone Pale" Most used Hops - Magnum (pretty much bitter every beer with this) Most used Yeast - BRY-97 Best Beer Award - Blonde Ale, which wasn't technically a Blonde Ale, but was easily the most enjoyable, eye-opening beer all year. Citra and Galaxy are a nice late pairing. Worst Beer Award - Oatmeal Stout. Not undrinkable and maybe I'm too particular when it comes to anything "Stout", but this came across too muddled. Still not sure what the point is with Oatmeal. Cheers!

Only 20 batches this year. That's partially due to the fact that I cut my beer consumption drastically in the past 3 months to lose some weight. I do have one more brew day scheduled before the new year.

That’s the reason I am trying the NEM. I don’t want to gain back what I lost and I see the scale creeping back up.

Zero My brother... how long has it been since you brewed now? I knew you were in a drought (I almost typed draught ) but I hoped you had broken out of it. Seriously... how long has it been? I started brewing in 1999 when my daughter was 4 and my first son was 1. Then anther son in 2000 so that was tough. I remember the kids slowing things down drastically and weekends could be busier than weekdays. If that's what you're going through... I get it.

I had a batch or two that I started and then shit went wrong and aborted the mission... Spring came and time was spent coaching baseball (against my wishes lol)... Summer came and we got a dog and just kind of seemed like it was a chore to even think about brewing. I have recipes scribbled and still think about it often. Maybe on the week between Christmas and new years I can sneak one of in.

It might be work, the kids, some other project you're working on and you look at your equipment and just think, "NO". It's a strange thing to happen because OTOH, other things inspire me to brew and MAKE me want to brew. Maybe you read an article, see some new process tweak you can make or you're just watching a show about beer and brewing. Maybe you just see a scene in a movie or show where people are sitting at a bar drinking beer and you envision what they're drinking and want to brew. I am ready to make some ales and I have pale ale malt plus some other stuff and then some Willamette, Cascade, Goldings, Northern Brewer, Perle and Nugget and some S-04 too. Looking forward to some ale brewing.
