I drank a lot of Michelob in the 70's and 80's before I discovered "real" beer! Speaking of the Michelob glass... (It's a classic lager/pilsner glass, and I use it a lot!) #7 is Kurpfalz Bräu Helles by Weldebräu in Plankstadt. 5.3% ABV. I've become well acquainted with the Helles style so far in this assortment, and these are all really similar. I think that says a lot about how German brewers conform to the historic styles. This one has really good head retention, and just a hint of sourness (not unpleasantly so...) The "Brauerie Füllung" on the label means "Brewery Filling". I'm guessing that means it was filled at the brewery, as opposed to being packaged elsewhere. Can anyone confirm that?

I think I got one of these in 2019 for my birthday. Some were really nice but I still have some can sitting in my fridge that I never tried. Just styles I do not like.

I can't help it... the name of this one makes me giggle like a 12-year-old! #8 is Weiner Lager (Vienna Lager) by Privatbrauerei H. Egerer in Großköllnbach. 5.1% ABV. I love the can design. Very malty, but with decent hop bitterness. One of my favorite styles. Kinda disappointed that this is the only Vienna Lager in the pack.

Yeah, I took notice of that one when you posted the whole pack. I love a good Vienna Lager. It's on the pale side for a Vienna but I suppose it comes in many shades. Prost.

#9 is Teisnacher 1543 Festmärzen by Ettl Bräu in Teisnach. 5.4% ABV. Rich, hazy amber color and a robust head. This beer is the first hazy Märzen/Festbier I've seen. The can says "Naturtrüb" (Naturally Cloudy... Thanks, Google Translate!) and "Gebraut nach altbewährtem rezpt" (Brewed according to a tried and tested recipe). Definitely malt-forward with a biscuity flavor. Just-noticeable hops. Good stuff!

#10 is Käuzle Pilsner by Kauzen-Bräu in Ochsenfurt. 4.8% ABV. The first Pilsner of the batch. Light, refreshing, and surprisingly hoppy! Moderately high carbonation and a foamy, white head. It has enough hop bitterness and flavor that I'm going to go out on a limb and say it tastes like Saaz to me. I like it a lot! Käuzle means "Screech Owl" and the brewery name Kauzen-Bräu means "Owl Brew". Other notations on the can: Ein Käuzle Unters Schnäuzle = A Screech Owl Under the Whiskers Feinstes Bayerisches Bier = Finest Bavarian Beer

Gotta love a woman who can sling 8-10 beers at once with a smile on her face! #11 is Marie Hausbrendel Hell by Familienbrauerei Schwarzbräu in Zusmarshausen. 4.8% ABV Another excellent example of a Helles Lager. Clear, bright, and malty with a nice body and restrained hops. Slightly higher carbonation on this one.

#12 is Ladenburger Weizenbock Hell by Brauerei Ladenburger in Neuler. 7.4% ABV Something a little different. This is basically a bock-strength Weisbier. Malty, hint of banana, lots of yeast character, lots of body, slight tartness.

These all look good. I really like the look (and description) of the pilsner and helles. Next year I'll have to find someone who's a Costco member and ask them to grab me one.

I'm really pleasantly surprised by how good these all are. I was somewhat skeptical when I started. I'm thinking this will be an annual purchase!

I'm really pleasantly surprised by how good these all are. I was somewhat skeptical when I started. I'm thinking this will be an annual purchase! I think that Sam's Club had something one year that was similar... a holiday "beers of the world" pack. Something seemed off to me. All of the bottles (or cans) had very similar and vague artwork, the caps were all blank, the brands were completely unrecognizable (you'd think that you would have heard of SOME of them) and the beers weren't very good. It's like a contract brewer took a bunch of stuff they were stuck with and rebranded it. I just searched for "familienbrauerei Schwartznbrau" and found the SITE for the helles with the girl graphic. There are enough breweries in Germany for many of us to have never heard of any of these.

#13 is Landgang Pils by Landgang Brauerei in Hamburg. 5.0% ABV. Auto-correct really wants this to be "Landing" or "Land Grab" Today we have another Pilsner, this one quite different from the other one. For starters the color is a rich gold/amber color, with a large, fluffy white head. Still fairly light body, but with moderately assertive hop bitterness. The hops actually took me a bit by surprise (a nice surprise!) The hop aroma and flavor are more floral in this one than spicy. Hallertau? I don't know... I'm not really good at identifying most hops in beer! It's really good, though!

The beer looks great and you can tell that the guy on the can means business.
