The MM arrived today. Had to put together the hopper but it was easy. Definitely heftier than the Barley Crusher - 7# vs 14.25#. Ran a few cups of grain through it to clean. Seems to work great. But did I really need an arrow to show me where the handle goes?

Are those settings for the gap discrete or continuous? In other words, can it be set to just the marked positions or can it be set at any point between the markings? Analog versus digital 😬

I'd imagine you can set them anywhere. It's not like they click in.

I'll play around with the settings on my next brewday. I'm going to make that White Stout again for my wife.

Interested in a review of how this works. I have contemplated a new mill for a while.

I find this sorta funny, after 20+ years. Me and my dive buddies joke around in similar fashion. I have the majority of my scuba gear for 20+ years and when something breaks or "slows down" the standard comment is, "You'd think you'd get more than 20+ years out of this hahaha. I pride myself in having tools/equipment/culinary gadgets since the beginning of time. Almost prideful really.

Gusso, did you take it for a spin yet? I agree it DOES look heavy duty. I wanna see it crush some grain!

What gets me is that sprocket-like gear picture. On most mills the grain is pulled through the rollers by the friction of the grain itself (right?) but here it would suggest that there is NO WAY for the rollers to spin freely without pulling grain through because technically there is no passive roller. Do I have that right? If that's true then this could be the mill to end all mills. It would crush every single time, no exceptions.

So far, I'm pleased with the MM. It made its way through 16# of grain in no time. Probably too fine a crush for most of you guys as I mash in a bag (pics soon). I did have a minor screw up initially. I had one roller offset a bit. No problem now. By the way, for you big spenders, Crankandstein has a 3 roller mill with all the rollers geared. Beastly. www.crankandstein.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7&products_id=33

I do have the Crankenstein but it's not the geared version. I do like the mill but it does make me swear occasionally. But to have a geared 2- or 3-roller mill is a game changer. It pretty much guarantees that you will never whiff during the milling process ever again. I love it.
