How did the beer taste other than the carb? Tastes good to me. Too much Munich for my tastes TBH. I'll try 1/2 Munich, 1/2 Vienna next time. Maybe 100% swap for Vienna. I guess I'm just not a huge fan of Munich in lighter beers.

As the carbonation picks up it really perks up despite my general distaste for Munich.

As the carbonation picks up it really perks up despite my general distaste for Munich. Was it "Munich Light"? Surprised you have that much of an issue with it unless you have a sensitivity to it. I have heard a number of people say that they dislike the character they get from Vienna. Hard for me to believe but our tastebuds are all different.

Yes, light Munich.

Let's see what it says when the beer is fully carbed and conditioned. When a beer is young/younger you may pick things up that stand out and when some amount of time goes by then the magic happens and instead of separate characteristics that can be picked out, you just get good beer flavor. Let's assume that will happen here, shall we?

I wouldn't say I have a problem with it, just that it's not my favorite. I was kind of being facetious when i called it a 'distaste'. It feels a little out of place in a lighter beer to me, I don't know how else to explain it. The beer itself has that nice soft German lager character. It's quite good even a bit young. I'm not upset with the beer at all, quite pleased actually.

I usually go to AirLiquide locally for exchange, they don't care about dates, just swap and go.
I think mine needs refilled again, aggggg.

Second round with burst carbing...this time with a 3 gallon keg. The 5 gal keg went 12 hours last time and came up short. I'm guesstimating 14-15 hrs would've done it, so at 60% of the volume it would be 8-9 hrs. We'll see what that gets me.

Well, 9 hrs was too short but it rounded out at 12 psi in about 2 days. I started carbing another 3 gal at 50 psi yesterday and forgot about it. 17 hrs is definitely too long. Actually wasn't that far overcarbed, though. I started another one this morning. I'll go for 12 hrs this time.
