I just ordered some 5 volt pressure transducers. I'll give this a try using the pressure transducers to control the head pressure to get it dialed in just right.

Yeah, haven't seen that one. From the pics I can't really tell where you connect the QD to that gizmo. I'm willing to try something different since all of these configurations come in at a relatively low price point. My #1 issue is carb consistency and the proper valve is supposed to ensure better carb consistency so a better valve should be my focus.

I'll keep my other 5lb tank but I'll have to get it exchanged at the LHBS. The gas place won't do it because it isn't their cylinder.

Depends on the place and one place makes me drop off and then pick up the next day while another place does it while I wait.

The weld gas place wants $35 for a food grade 5lb and $29 for a 20lb. The LHBS is probably more like $20/5lb.

I've got the Dortmunder on 50psi right now. 9 hrs left to see if this crazy method works...

I took a sample at 9.5 hrs. Definitely not enough bubbles. After 12 hrs i'll test it. I feel like the carbonation will be stratified with this method so i'm going to give the keg a gentle end over end tip and see if there's a change.

At 12 hrs it was probably 90% of the way there. I brought it down to ~12 psi and i'll check again in the morning. I was too tired to go hulking kegs around so i didn't tip it. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

50psi for 12 hrs didn't quite get me there. I have it sitting on 12 psi at the moment. i'll have to try the burst carb method again on the next keg. maybe 14 hrs?
