I've had a Big Green Egg for a few years now. When I got it I was so used to a gas grill that I looked at the BGE as a challenge and something I might not use. It takes a bit of time to get ready so it's a good thing to do on a lazy weekend day. I have made ribs on it, steaks, burgers, skewers, etc. This year I started to find 1.5 (or so) pound pork tenderloins and I will rub them like I would rub ribs, hit them directly over the coals for 3 minutes on each side and then move them indirect and go about 12-13 minutes on each side. Yum. Yesterday I was on a bike ride and I envisioned what's in the picture below. I smoked the pork tenderloin and then "toasted" the brioche bun in a pan with a bit of butter and then there are really good, locally-made dick pickle chips, the smoked pork, the crispity-crunchity onion things (Frenches?) and a mustard-based BBQ sauce made by Matt who is a brewer and member here. Some "frioles charros" on the side. Really good.

That looks awesome. The gas grill .. I consider it an appliance. It's right outside my kitchen, I can use it year-round, it's quick and I know what I'm doing on it. I cooked over charcoal for 20+ years so I know how to use it, adjust airflow, etc. and the BGE was mildly intimidating at first but not anymore. I like it and I have a few of the EGGcessories.

I am a Weber guy. I use the grill, smoker, and gasser year round as well. I have them strategically placed on the deck so I can see temp gauges and exhaust from the kitchen while preparing sides.

I’m on one of them 3+ nights a week. It would be a safe bet most nights to be here ~6.
