Loose gut would be a good band name. Feel better, Chils. We'll be thinking about you and your wife. Hang in there.

Glad you're okay Chils. We don't need no stinkin' virus up in here. Meanwhile I'm in the epicenter of Texas. So far so good.

For the first time since the pandemic broke, we're finally able to get some Lysol disinfecting wipes (arriving in our Amazon Fresh order b/w 1-3pm today). We had a stash that we've been using as judiciously as we can to keep our home clean/disinfected, but with an eye towards not being wasteful, either.
Never thought I'd be so glad to be able to buy cleaning supplies.

My wife found 70% alcohol wipes somewhere too.

Tested negative yesterday, back to work tomorrow thru the weekend and monday. Late to the party, but glad to hear Chils. Be well. Thanks. Had to treat in the Covid unit yesterday. Dress out in surgical scrubs, shoe covers, hair net, safety glasses, face shield, N-95 mask covered with a procedure mask, 2 layers of gloves, plastic gown. Felt like I fell in a lake afterwards due to sweating so much in all that gear. Patient was hispanic and could barely do anything w/o O2 sats dropping to 84% with the O2 cranked up to 16 liters.

A 70 y/o co-worker tested positive today. I haven't heard from him. Need to send him a text. Wife came home and said her clinic manager told her if they tested positive for Covid they were still required to come in for work. This is getting ridiculous.

I just saw Fauci saying this is not a 'second wave'. It's a spike due to people easing too quickly and too many people in too many states not taking it seriously. The short trip I just took was probably ill-advised and I will own that. My wife really wanted to go and planned the whole thing but even she is saying she's not doing anything or going anywhere for awhile. The madness continues.

My wife really wanted to go and planned the whole thing but even she is saying she's not doing anything or going anywhere for awhile. The madness continues. It's the asymptomatic positives that are spreading this. My Covid+ co-worker visited his doctor a few days ago. The MD had on an N-95 mask and he was in a procedure mask. Later he was contacted and told the MD was positive. He could have gotten it there or from the hospital where we work. No idea.
When I was in line to be tested it was at our urgent care clinic. Co-worker in front of me was positive. She said her symptoms were all gastro. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea. No respiratory symptoms. Ended up in the ER getting fluids. This is not just a respiratory illness, it is extremely easily spread, and positive carriers may or may not have symptoms but are still able to spread it.

At some point I think people need to get past the concept of the virus, being macho and not wearing a mask, criticizing those who wear a mask or those governors who take it seriously and just think for a second about what it might be like to have this bug. I think Chils could tell us a lot about what he sees especially with regard to the 'difficulty beathing' part. I know I don't want it. But I also have to consider the fact that my job is not impacted by this at all. I also know how to shop (carefully), cook and make beer. I have any number of things to keep me entertained and I am content being safe. Yes, I miss baseball and now I wonder if it will come back at all with the spike. But still... I'm lucky. EDIT: I was posting at the same time Chils was. See? He's full of good info. Thanks Chils.
