As I’m standing before my throne, doing my best peeing cherub scene.....I notice a snake behind said throne.
I finally chopped his head off. Harmless black snake, but I don’t allow them indoors.
sorry my squirmy friend, you’ll make a fine meal for a bird tomorrow.

I briefly considered burning the house to the ground. That insurance money would have been helpful right now.

Where do you live again? I like that I live an in area without bears, scorpions, snakes, etc. Of course, I have raccoon scat in my attic so there's that.

Check for mouse activity in the house. Snake came in for a reason.

western north carolina. We usually have an occasional black snake come into the basement during cold season. Same for the occasional mouse. Haven't seen any sign--nor has the cat brought us any mice treats, since last fall.

We get black racer's through the yard often. They're good to have around, but definitely not in the house haha. I'm more concerned that one day I'll be in the pool and a Boa or Python will come for a visit. Iguana's come to shit on the pool deck frequently and if spotted, that becomes the last crap they'll ever take because the get the air rifle treatment.
