Water is filtered and grains are weighed out. I'm going to subscribe to "screw the recipe and just try to make the beer you envision by whatever means possible". With that in mind, I am making a Munich Helles with 92.5% Best Malz Pils and 7.5% Copper Malt. About 22 IBUs of Hallertau Mitt from the start of the boil and Wyeast 2124. 4.9% and an SRM of about 5.2 so it should have a smidge of color to it like a helles should. The "simplified" approach is in effect by getting the strike water to a pH of 5.5 prior to heating. No one else in the house today so it should be a smooth and focused brewday. It's also a gorgeous day here... 75° and sunny. Happy Friday Beerheads.
