Anyone else a beekeeper here. I've been keeping bees for a while now. I thoroughly enjoy it. It makes me pay more attention to the seasons and weather, even though it doesn't vary too much on the central coast of California. Here's some pics of my hives. I currently have 5, I started years ago with two, but between hive splits and wild caught swarms I now have five. I focus alot of letting hives that have natural vigor and disease and mite resistance to survive, while occasionally letting a sub par hive die. I now have 5 hives that build up quickly in the spring, produce a respectable amount of honey, and require minimal treatment for mites.
