And based on what you found at McMaster-Carr... how much would those pieces run you?

Some of the McMaster-Carr stuff is pretty pricey... but, I found page 1 where the guy who build one sourced all the parts from Amazon.com: because-beer.com/diy-black-iron-pipe-draft-tower/Looks like he built the 2 tap version for about $200... This was from 2014... prices have gone up, looks like about 40% or so on most of the black iron stuff!

So for a double it's a "T", two elbows, a stem and a base. I would love to make one. I would actually like to made TWO so I could keep my current four-tap dispensing system. I like the look of it. Also, the thread title is apt. Gusso asks "how'd this happen?" and then I suggest he spend money on a black iron draft tower. Then we find that they can be made for much cheaper and I might spend money on making one. So... how'd that happen?
