Have you ever found that animals knowingly/purposely swim in your pool? I assume our pests are different but...
I had never seen this until this year. I had a bit of a dirty film on the liner at the water line and I may see that in the spring but once I clean it, I don't see it again. That film was also on the white plastic skimmer openings and it was BLACK. After I cleaned it, I would eventually see it again days or weeks later. One night when I was getting ready to go to bed I was locking up and saw something in the pool. I have no idea what it was but it was like 1-2am and I was in no mood so I left it. The next morning the skimmer cover was askew so that's how it got out. I assumed it fell in there accidentally. So today and the rest of this weekend are quite warm here so I just took a swim. Put on my mask and grabbed my net to get some leaves. I found legit TURDS on the bottom of the pool, still intact. I just did some Googling and I see that raccoons love to swim and will even wash their paws and whatever they're about to eat in water. We have a lot of raccoons around. This is enough to tell me that raccoons are intentionally swimming in my pool! I put my trail camera out there a few times and never saw anything. I'm putting it out again tonight to see if something comes up. This is the last straw. The animals have busted into my attic, eaten veggies from the garden, knocked over my garbage cans and now they're swimming (and pooping!) in my pool! Luckily I had the water pretty well-chlorinated this summer.
