Gotcha!
Heat stripped my 3205 garden tractor hitch a few minutes ago using my propane weed burner and a razorblade scraper. If you don't feel safe then don't do this. I'm an adult and take responsibility for what I do. If you aren't then just don't do it or take all the precautions you need to keep you from killing yourself, I'm not responsible for you, yadda, yadda. This had a layer of peeling paint over shiny powdercoating so it needed to be taken off to get paint to stick to it. I stripped all the sheetmetal last week the same way. This took much longer to heat than the sheetmetal did due to the thickness of the hitch. I could wave the heat over the sheetmetal and the paint and powdercoat would blister right up. After I stopped the vid I donned a Left welding glove to finish up. The subsequent heatings took less time because the thick hitch had already soaked up heat.

Any concern about warping the deck? Fire sure made short work out of it The heat applied is less than the powercoating took to bake it on.
