The most I spent was $440 for 12 bottles of Westy 12. This was back before any of the charity releases. Damn I was stupid!
You mean to tell me you paid $36.66/beer? What else came with the beer?
I once paid ~$26.00 for a 750 ml bottle of DeuS Brut des Flandres, Mostly because the first homebrewer magazine I bought had a clone recipe and I was intrigued to see what I was missing.
For me, cases of beer are about economy and quantity. I look top get the best dollars per beer ratio. My current first choice is Tecate. Around here, I can get a 30 pack for about $20.00.
I absolute did, only thing other thing that came in the box was a bottle of Cuvée Delphine, beer is my vice. Shipping on a package of 13 bottles of beer in a cooler in a box from Belgium was not cheap. I also stood out in the cold, snow and sleet starting at 3am once for a chance to get 2 bottles of Kate the Great, tickets started being released at 9am. I also made multiple trips to beer releases across NY and New England. It was a hobby, beer trading and releases were all part of it. At the time I bought the Westy I was single, making good money and had no bills. It was not a big deal really. Now, I do not like buying the $22 4-packs. But I occasionally do .

For a case, 1 shot was $120. 2010 DFH world wide stout in 2011. That's case lasted about 8 years. Broke it out for certain company or I wanted one beer for the evening. 😁
Looking back now, that was a bargain. Cant touch a 4 pack for less then $30. In PA and Jersey is pushing $40

My store always had it but I never wanted to spend the price. The packaging was awesome tho. Fun fact - these barrels were used to age Utopias. I drove up the the SA brewery in Boston and met with Bob, the guy from the commercial with the big beard, and picked them up. Now they are planters...lol. I remember that day well, it was in January and I was driving a 4 door F-150 right after a big snow storm. That truck did not play well with narrow Boston streets with snow banks.

Awesome! Actually, it's unseemly that I do not have wooden beer barrels as planters in my yard. I really need to do that. It would spruce up the biergarten.
