Sigh...remembering the good old days when you could get a corny for $10-$15. I think I still have six 5g and four 3g. I got rid of fifteen 5g a few years back, most of which I had gotten for <$15/ea.

I got many from AIH for $15 too. They weren't the best kegs but they were okay and I still use some from there today. Then my wife's cousin started selling kegs and I got a number of additional kegs from him for very cheap... maybe $20 each. So I have not paid big dollars for kegs. Still, I know that $39 is a good price. Shipping may negate that though. I've seen them for as high as $75 or $80 for used kegs. The [brand new] Torpedo kegs are between $84 and $95 each for 5 gallons.

Wow, now they have 1.75, 2.5, 3 AND 5 gallon cornies? That's kinda cool. Is there any commercial use for a 1.75g keg or is it a homebrewer exclusive? Too bad it's still so hard to get 10g cornies. www.austinhomebrew.com/Homebrew-Kegs_c_32.html

Oh, i see that the Torpedo kegs are like 10 gallon ball locks. I had never heard of a "torpedo keg" before. The diameter on those Sanke kegs is a PITA.

Torpedo comes in various sizes. Also, for some reason 3-gallon kegs are more expensive and valuable than 5-gallon kegs. I also had a few 3-gallon jobbies. I would keg 3 gallons and then bottle 2 gallons. What kind of dillweed does that? I must have thought it was a good idea at the time.

3 gal used to be really rare until early 2010s then someone started importing them from china or something. When I bought mine they were pretty easy to come by.
