Just wanted to share this hot sauce. El Yucateco black is like crack. Smoky and perfect heat. You may have seen their red and green sauces which aren't very hot. This is probably 2x hotter than those. El Yucateco also has a really good brown habanero sauce that is hotter than the black but still very manageable

I like the concept of smoky. I'll be honest... I like stuff that's hot and spicy as long as the flavor is good. I don't like heat for the sake of heat. I also am not that big a fan of habanero. I don't know what it is but I don't care for it's flavor. It's fruity or something. I'm a much bigger fan of chipotle and the smokiness is there too. I almost always have chipotle peppers in the house and I will mix some into my homemade salsa. But I'm going to look for this stuff. I found a few online vendors that sell it. How likely is my local grocery store to have it? Thanks again Chils.

Too mild and not much flavor. The brown tastes like raw habaneros and I like it. It's the hottest. Black has the best flavor to me. Very strong and smoky.

I'll try it. I love the chipotle hot sauces I've had. Smokey is goooooood.

I really like the red and XXXXX ones. Been buying them for years. I'll keep an eye out for the black label!

Green had that green pepper flavor like eating a jalapeno. Red was like chili powder. I actually enjoyed both. Different flavors and mild heat.

Maybe I can find a variety pack with all the flavors. I occasionally try some of this stuff and it's either bland and tasteless or it just doesn't seem to have much of anything happening. Toonces' Atomic City Rojo is really nice... big, delicious flavor and some heat but not a ton. My sons went and got some good chicken strips one day and put them in the oven while they made waffles to go with them. I suggested some Rojo and they're both like "Eh. I dunno..." but I break out a new bottle and 30 minutes later it was just about gone.

Anyone tried this yet? Just had it on a chicken breast sandwich with black pepper, teriyaki, and turmeric. Was tasty.

Anyone tried this yet? Just had it on a chicken breast sandwich with black pepper, teriyaki, and turmeric. Was tasty. No luck finding the smoky stuff locally. But, I tried this: I useally buy a can of chipotle peppers with Adobo sauce and mix with red pepper hummus for something to snack on. Mixed in a some of the adobo with the red stuff to try it on its own. It was killer.
