Our son never asks for anything; Christmas, Birthday's etc. Very simple and content young man. Not even an urgency to drive. My wife and I are trying to do something that resembles a little normalcy for him and hoping to have a couple family members over for a little Saturday BBQ. My boy loves grilled wings so that's a given, then quite probably a couple pizzas. Simple enough.
My wife on the other hand........ has requested Eggs Benedict with Aperol Spritzers for Sunday brunch and I am going to make a Shrimp Alfredo over Lump Crab Cauliflower cakes, something I've perfected since going very low carb. Should be a groovy weekend to chill, because that's all we seem to be able to do haha.
Any Mothers Day plans fellas?

I don't really know what the food plans are. If it is nice, we will go to my sister in laws and social distance, but my wife wants to take our own meal so that we don't share anything. SIL is a nurse and the 85 year old MIL thinks its ok to go to the store every other day to shop and not wear a mask. I'm not thrilled about it, but kinda want to see everybody. On the plus side, I won't have to hug my MIL, who always puts on way too much perfume. As for gifts, we have a friend who paints portraits. I commissioned him to do a piece of my son from a show last year. Probably won't be done in time, but I'll let her know something is coming that is on "back order". Here were the options from the picture I sent him. Although a lot of his work is closer to Option D, we chose Option B because it tells a lot of story. A is close to the original photo, which we already have. The type of work he does is at this site. It's all good and I can't wait so see what he does. She's been wanting something by him. You will see he mostly does studies of women, but he was looking forward to this. This will actually be the third piece he's done of a student performer, so he could find a niche market. www.richmatheson.com/

I'm always torn on Mother's Day... do I fawn all over my mom or do I fawn all over my wife? Afterall, my wife is not my mom... my kids are adults and should fawn all over their mom except only one of our kids is here today. Also, I can't really fawn all over my mom because she's 87 and well... isolation and all of that. The weather here over the weekend does not look great so any type of outdoor activity seems like a whiff. What I should do is make sure my kids know that it's mother's day this Sunday and make sure my out-of-town kids FaceTime their Mom at the very least.

Deerslyr, I like your awesome gift. Eventually she'll be so happy haha. Ken, shitty weather, kids away, Mom safely tucked away, I'd say you make a decadent dinner for your girl. Have the kid help hahah

My son just came up with a great idea. My wife is struggling with the isolation and has mentioned that she wants to "go somewhere... but where?". If the weather is decent then a walk or bike ride is good but there aren't many places you can go. So Saturday is supposed to be sunny and 60° and my son suggested a 'picnic' at the local forest preserve (which is open). We'll bring camp chairs and a table and some lunch, water, wine, beer, etc. It won't be warm but it's something.

I made homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast ( my daughters idea) and wife requested pizza (one of 4 shown) for dinner. All were a big hit

Yum Drez.
My youngest son is home. He suggested we make brunch so yesterday we fired up omelettes, bacon, french toast, hashbrowns, a fruit salad, english muffins, coffee, mimosas, etc. 'Twas nice.

I made French Toast out of some Sourdough Chocolate Bread I baked the day before. New York Strip with baked potato and asparagus for dinner.
I saw those Cinnamon Rolls on FB yesterday... can you post the recipe and process?

I remember my kids going ape-shizzle over cinnamon buns when they were little. It's a good way to make their face light up.
