BS Mobile has FWH producing more IBU than the traditional boil addition. I haven't used ProMash in a while (it's on a really, really old laptop) but I believe that it calculated differently. Seems there is no consistency between software. I think I brought this up over at AHA. Some people mentioned [some product] that calculated it as more IBUs than a traditional bittering addition and to be honest... I could see that. It's technically in the wort longer. Other people stand by the 20-minute association. I do like a FWH addition but I generally have no idea what the IBUs are so I just wing it, assume, cross my fingers and hope for the best. Btw, the thread at AHA really did not come to any specific conclusion.

Columbus FWH to about 16 IBU, then 3-4 IBU Mt Hood at 10 min? US-05 yeast. Just thinking out loud here... feel free to say, whaaaat? How did you calc the FWH addition? I know I have been a PITA about this before but no calculator that I use will give me any IBUs for a FWH addition... I get ZERO which I know is incorrect. I used Brewfather for this. It calculates for me, though I haven't played to see how many minute addition it's equivalent to. And I do see that Beersmith calculates a FWH as higher IBU than at the start of the boil.

The Aunt doesn't know.

Drez, some hop suggestions, please! Looking at a Tropical DIPA this weekend. 13-14# of mostly Golden Promise. I have ample amounts of the following hops: mosaic, el dorado, Sabro, Rakau, Vic Secret, Ekuanot, and Azacca. I also have 2-3 oz of the following: Simcoe, Amarillo, and Galaxy. Also in the freezer are more traditional (American) hops like Cascade, Centennial, and CTZ. I'm leaning to heavy doses of VS and Azacca as I have quite a bit of each. I'm going to try Verdant yeast for the first time.

I would go heavy on the Vic because I love it. WP 1:1:3 CTZ, Mosaic, Vic DH 1:1:2:3 CTZ, Mosaic, Azacca, Vic

Also make Azacca a 3 on DH. I like Azacca plus I have a shit ton of it!
