That sucks- SSRs tend to be in the worst spot in the control box.
I had to replace my SSRs on my first trial run. The SSRs were "rated" 40 amps. About 20 minutes in, the smoke came out. Luckily, I put in a CT to display power consumption- relays didnt see anymore then 21 amps. Damn Chinese manufacturing.

When I built my box I put the SSRs right up front so the replacement was fast but I had to wait for thermal grease to get delivered. I got it all back up and running on Saturday night and gave it about 4 hours of run time yesterday running cleaning solution. So far it all seems good. I plan to run another cleaning loop with the CFC in it this time and then plan for a batch of beer latter this week. ![](https://scontent.fbed1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/s960x960/103854342_10160189436934657_3379923560983447603_o.jpg?_nc_cat=110&_nc_sid=1480c5&_nc_ohc=OyjOU4PBnWIAX_2kIYY&_nc_ht=scontent.fbed1-1.fna&_nc_tp=7&oh=832a53c8cd5f32a32452ead4c419203d&oe=5F031318)

I was looking at that middle SSR for a while wondering why it said '121 ms'. DOH!

I was looking at that middle SSR for a while wondering why it said '121 ms'. DOH! HA HA. I wish I could remember why that one has a blue tape label and the other have Dymo labels. Funny part is that one is not used anymore. I have the RIMS now off the one labeled HLT because I moved to a 2500 watt 240 V element and I was no longer heating water in my HLT so I just re-used that one.

Is the little breadboard your PWM? That was the PWM I used before. I no longer use that but saved it in there for backup. I use a Watlow Series 989 controller now. It lets me dial the element control in finer and has temperature readout that works, my old one died so it was time for an upgrade. (man I need to clean the panel off) ![](https://scontent.fbed1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/102737170_10160189866894657_5666995069540040646_o.jpg?_nc_cat=110&_nc_sid=1480c5&_nc_ohc=MculvYem320AX_UAL2G&_nc_ht=scontent.fbed1-1.fna&oh=63d484a2d9cfdd67582bd4a813c82c1b&oe=5F039CBB)
